Pastoral Code of Conduct

·        As a Godly man and Pastor charged with teaching and nurturing the Body of Christ in grace and truth (John 1:17) I will follow nothing but the highest standards of personal integrity and accountability. I will never seek to conceal my transgressions when open disclosure is required or sought and never at the expense of another’s well being or reputation (Prov. 28:13).

·        As a Godly man and Pastor I will treat every believer, seeking individual or person I encounter with dignity and respect without regards to their gender, race, social standing, or mental or physical capabilities or capacities (Matt. 5:21-26; James 3:9-12).

·         As a Godly man and Pastor I will seek no individuals harm. Whether spiritual/psychological or physical. I will strive to walk in love towards friend and foe alike as the Lord Jesus Christ did and has commanded (Matt. 5:43-48; 22:37-39; Luke 6:27-36; Rom. 13:8-10).

·        As a Godly man and Pastor I will hold to the highest standards of personal trust and confidentiality and respect the right of privacy of everyone in regards to the details of their lives. Disclosure of personal history, personal problems, family issues or problems, medical issues, financial information or anything else. Whatever is shared with me will be treated with upmost confidentiality and will not be disclosed or shared with others unless right of disclosure is first ascertained. Only in regards to matters where by law I am required to disclose confidential information will I do so, and then only to those authorities whom govern such activities or by law require disclosure. I will not use innuendoes to reveal personal information, or undermine or hurt any individual’s person or reputation.

·        As a Godly man and Pastor I will hold or treat no believer with contempt who has fallen into sin (Matt. 18:10-14; Luke 15:1-32; Gal. 6:1-2). Nor will I disclose the nature of their transgression to those not directly involved, unless right of disclosure is given, or by law I am required to do so. I will seek their restoration and reconciliation (if possible) and thus fulfill the Law of Christ (Gal 6:1-2).

·        As a Godly man and Pastor I will exercise church discipline in grace and truth through love with the desire for reconciliation and peace. Following the commandments of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Biblical Apostle’s laid out in the N.T. (Prov. 19:11; Matt. 18:15-35; Luke 17:1-5; 2 Cor. 2:5-11).

·        As a Godly man and Pastor I will seek peace and pursue it with friend and foe alike (1 Peter 3:8-12).

·        As a Godly man and Pastor I will hold onto mercy and truth (Prov. 3:3-4; Matt. 5:7; Eph. 4:32; Col. 3:12-14) practicing and modeling forgiveness, not vengeance.

·        As a Godly man and Pastor I will strive to keep the Golden Rule and use it as my guide whenever Scriptures are silent on any matter (Matt. 7:12).

·        As a Godly man and Pastor I will pursue holiness and righteousness both personally and corporately without becoming self centered or self righteous (Luke 18:9-14).

·        As a Godly man and Pastor I will not use my position of trust and authority to preserve myself or my reputation at the expense of another.

·        As a Godly man and Pastor I will not delight in the humiliation or downfall of anyone and certainly not another believer, but I will obey Jesus Christ's commandment to love (John 13:35).

·        As a Godly man and Pastor I will not show partiality to the rich (Job 34:19) nor despise the poor (Ps. 14:6). Nor will I show partiality to the poor man in his dispute (Ex. 23:3) but I will seek to be just towards all (Lev. 19:15; Micah 6:8).

·        As a Godly man and Pastor I will not despise sinners in their sins, I will not seek their judgment or judge them or condemn them (Matt. 7:1-5).

·        As a Godly man and Pastor I will not be involved with those charitable organizations or activities (whether Christian or not) which compromise Christ’s Name; His morals or His ethics (1 Samuel 2:30; 2 Chr. 16:9).
