Acts 1:12–14

12 Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey. 13 And when they had entered, they went up into the upper room where they were staying: Peter, James, John, and Andrew; Philip and Thomas; Bartholomew and Matthew; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot; and Judas the son of James. 14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.

Vs. 12Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey.”

Having then seen the Lord Jesus Christ Ascend back to God in heaven the disciples in great joy (Luke 24:52) now return to Jerusalem. Here then the location of the Lord Jesus’ Ascension is stated as taking place on Mount Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey, that is the maximum amount a Jew was allowed to travel on the Sabbath.

Vs. 13And when they had entered, they went up into the upper room where they were staying: Peter, James, John, and Andrew; Philip and Thomas; Bartholomew and Matthew; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot; and Judas the son of James.”

Having then returned to Jerusalem, to the place where they were staying, they, (the eleven apostles), went up into the upper room, (the room where they had begun their praying after Jesus’ Crucifixion and later Resurrection appearances to them), and so here they are listed by name, Peter, James, John, and Andrew; Philip and Thomas; Bartholomew and Matthew; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot; and Judas the son of James.”

Vs. 14These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.”

Now joining the eleven apostles were the woman who ministered to Jesus as well as the mother of Jesus and His brothers, who had now become disciples, these all then continued with one accord in prayer and supplications.
