Luke 21:5–7

5 Then, as some spoke of the temple, how it was adorned with beautiful stones and donations, He said, 6 “These things which you see—the days will come in which not one stone shall be left upon another that shall not be thrown down.” 7 So they asked Him, saying, “Teacher, but when will these things be? And what sign will there be when these things are about to take place?”

Commentary
In this section of Scripture, the Lord Jesus Christ while some spoke of the temple, how it was adorned with beautiful stones and donations, and so now Jesus in the midst of their doing so, now foretells of the Temples destruction (something that would take place in A.D. 70) by saying to them, “These things which you see—the days will come in which not one stone shall be left upon another that shall not be thrown down.” vs. 6 Which would’ve been a stunning revelation to them, because to see the Temple in all its glory and magnificence, and to be taken aback by it all, and then be told that not one stone upon another shall be left of all its former glory, again would’ve left them just stunned at how that could ever be. So they asked Him, saying, “Teacher, but when will these things be? And what sign will there be when these things are about to take place?” vs. 7 Jesus’ answer to their question is then found then in the next section which we will look a in the net blog post.
